ICT Infrastructure Deployment Delays

During the past 12 months, the NGL has undergone a restructure of its commercial facilities that has included the deployment of owned, on-site Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Infrastructure.

The aim of the project has also encompassed the establishment of long term executive offices and media production facilities. This is in addition to existing commercial facilities in Brisbane and Sydney that handle operational and administrative functions.

Following a long search and fit-out project, the new executive offices including media and ICT infrastructure have been established in the Kon-Tiki Business Center, in the heart of Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast in Queensland.

Due to the Kon-Tiki Business Center being a new development, many challenges have been encountered, resulting in significant delays. These delays have been attributed to several factors ranging from design to trades.

The primary delay is the installation of network technology to the new building. The delay in the installation of the network technology has exceeded five months. As a result of this delay, the league has been unable to commission its ICT infrastructure resulting in significant delays in moving forward with major functions and processes such as recruitment and immigration.

Following recent negotiations with the network technology vendors, the league’s corporate services provider’s network technology has been commissioned and the deployment of remaining infrastructure will begin from November 2017. It expected all ICT project to be completed by the end of this year.
